Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

This song, first sung by Judy Garland in the movie, Meet Me in St. Louis, could be the perfect Christmas song during the pandemic when many are separated from loved ones. I had not heard anyone noting this fact and most of the times I’ve heard it sung, have been to the Frank Sinatra version.

I was setting out to write my thoughts about it when I came across an article in Maclean’s magazine, a Canadian publication. So rather than duplicating what they’ve already published, here is the link which also includes Judy Garland’s original version. See what you think. Doesn’t it fit our situation?

Then when you’ve listened to Judy sing about doing our best in the circumstances given to us, listen to this song which is the anthem to what the season is really all about—God breaking into our situation with the best news ever! I’m a bit biased mind you.
